Fisher Price Elmo Live - What We Have Been Waiting For

What is the Fisher Price Elmo Live? Anyone that has seen Sesame Street in the last thirty years knows Elmo, the three and a half year old monster that has taken the Muppet spotlight to a whole new level. The star of Elmo's World, the furry red monster has become a favorite among children of all ages. The character has been portrayed in two movies (Elmo in Grouch land and Elmo Saves Christmas) and numerous toys including everything from a laptop and play kitchen for toddlers to the wildly popular Tickle Me Elmo released in 1996. Now there is a new Elmo toy that is quickly becoming a must have for toddlers, the Fisher Price Elmo Live.

The Fisher Price Elmo Live is a robotic partner for your children that has an extensive variety of commands and actions. By tickling or squeezing his foot, tummy, back or nose, Elmo will talk, sing, tell jokes, dance and even sneeze. While there are many other toys that will do these things, it's the extended actions that really bring Elmo Live alive. His mouth moves and his head wobbles back and forth as he talks to mimic the well known mannerisms of the character of television. His arms and legs are fully mechanized as he will wave his arms, sit and stand and cross his legs while sitting to tell a story. While in story mode the arms will wave in the air and act out parts of the story.

Unlike other mechanical toys the Fisher Price Elmo Live will involve your children in his play. When he falls over he will ask for help and then thank you afterward. If you squeeze his nose he asks if you have it and will ask for it back. Elmo is always asking for hugs and a dance partner, making you part of the play at every turn. These interactive features are a big part of why this is such a sought after gift for the holiday season.

Fisher Price Elmo Live stands 12" tall and is covered in bright red terry cloth "fur". It has the trademark large white eyes and big round nose that has made the Sesame Street character so identifiable. Elmo Live is powered by 6 "AA" batteries, included and has a power save mode where it yawns, says it's sleepy and powers down.

As opposed to other robotic toys currently on the market, Elmo Live is truly designed with toddlers in mind. Besides being a well known and loved children's icon it is entertaining and easy to use, making it perfect for its target audience of 1.5 to 6 years.

All in all this is the toy that we have been waiting for since Tickle Me Elmo was announced. There are few limitations with all of the activities and games that are programmed into the Fisher Price Elmo Live so it is sure to keep kids entertained for hours on end.

Fisher Price Elmo Live is sure to be a hit with your children this Christmas.
